An Introduction to Sabelt
When we started thinking about Grid Partners, our first impulse was to bring in iconic motorsports brands - brands that we had seen inside race cars and on our favorite drivers for all the collective years we've been following the sport.
The first brand we instantly thought of was Sabelt. Seeing it in everything from Senna's Toleman to Michael Schumacher's iconic Ferrari cockpit, to gracing WRC champion cars from Hyundai to Citroen, and everything in between. Sabelt is a brand with a legitimate sporting reputation, and a reputation for safety.
Sabelt was founded in 1972 in Turin, Italy with a focus on both supplying OEM seats to manufacturers such as Ferrari, and by extension got very quickly involved in motorsport.
Every piece of safety equipment with the Sabelt name is produced in their factory in Italy, with each piece undergoing rigorous in-house testing. The fact that Sabelt has internal testing facilities makes them singular, as they are literally the only company of their type to have such facilities.
This, coupled with the fact that they have worked with the most competitive teams and drivers gives Sabelt products an edge over the competition, with a cumulative 40+ years of experience in the sport.
Currently, Sabelt supplies of 7 out of 10 Formula One racing teams, as well as top teams in prototype categories LMP1 and LMP2, GT, WRC, WTCC, DTM, Blancpain, Superformula, Super GT, Australian V8, NASCAR, Indycar, IMSA and more.
Sabelt, of course, enjoys a special relationship with Ferrari, and is the official supplier for their newly founded prototype campaign, which saw them win in class and overall in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The thing that we love most about Sabelt is that each item they make is fully FIA certified, making each piece able to run in competition, and gives HPDE drivers added confidence on their track days.
